We are happy you dropped by for a visit. Posey School is located in Northport Village on Long Island's north shore in Suffolk County, New York State, approximately an hour from New York City.

Posey School is our home for dance and related arts. There is a lot happening at our School, as you'll see when you explore our website. Our curriculum is based on the arts in education rather than entertainment. Students gain a personal knowledge of the arts as a part of their lives in our culture and time, as well as an understanding of the arts as a part of world culture and history.

Posey School offers more than classes–we have programs that are planned for maximum enjoyment while you learn. If you are a parent looking for a class for a child, a teen looking for a great class, or an adult searching for a place where you can feel comfortable with the arts, this is the place!

Posey School offers classes for very young children in dance, art and music that are integrated so that parents will know what their children are learning. An expressive art program that values your child's creativity and offers exposure to a variety of media. Boys are comfortable in our School. The Boys Can Dance Program offers them the opportunity to dance their own way. We also welcome children who have been told they "cannot dance" to enjoy our classes!

The BALLET PROGRAM is recognized by professionals as being one of the finest available on Long Island. Contemporary Modern Dance is the cutting edge of new dance—what you need to know for academic dance programs. Special master classes are offered in all styles of tap and jazz-including hip-hop. The Adult Program offers morning and evening classes in Ballet and Contemporary Modern Dance. We welcome professional dancers and dance teachers in our classes as well as offering classes for adults who are just beginning and those who are returning to the study of dance

Professional Preparatory Program for serious dancers aged 12 through young adults will help you enter a college dance program. Posey Dance Repertory Company will get your performing career off to a good start.

Dance Education Services of Long Island (DES LI) resides at Posey School. Dance Education Services' mission is to preserve our dance heritage by presenting performances. DES of LI sponsors The Children’s Dance Company and Posey Repertory Company. Posey School is home to the Bare Bones Theatre Company and the Ballroom Academy of Long Island.
